15 Days of Who: Day 2
Uh, just a note that if anyone who watches Doctor Who stumbles on this and wants to throw in their two cents, I always like discussion. I might not actually reply to everything because I'm theoretically supposed to be busy doing other things, but it's all cool. I'd like to hear some other opinions.

Anyway, here's Day 2:

III. Favorite Character || Harriet Jones, Prime Minister (yes, we know who she is)
And I've wondered about that for a long time, whether I was wrong. But I stand by my actions to this day, because I knew.
I knew that one day, the Earth would be in danger and the Doctor would fail to appear. I told him so myself, and he didn't listen.

In order to avoid spamming the place up with endless pictures of Donna, I went for my second favorite character: Harriet Jones. Basically, I want to be Harriet Jones when I grow up. I adore her strange little quirks, and her persistence, and as a character I like that she's not completely black-and-white in terms of her morality. She does what she has to for the greater good, even if it's not strictly right, and she doesn't back down from her actions. And her death totally breaks my heart every time. She pretty much threw her life away on a long shot, but somebody needed to so she just did it without any fuss. She's my hero.

IV. Least Favorite Character || Francine Jones
Martha, it’s your mother. Please, phone me back. I’m begging you. I know who this Doctor really is. I know he’s dangerous.
You’re gonna get yourself killed. Please, trust me. This information comes from Harold Saxon himself. You’re not safe!

Sorry to any Francine lovers out there! I know that she was trying to look out for her daughter's wellbeing and wasn't given all the information she should have been in order to make the right decisions. And here I am, advocating characters with great flaws and imperfections and saying how much I love Ten and Harriet for the fact that they're not perfect (and boy will you ever get an essay on Amy when she comes up), but for some reason... I can't get behind Francine. Maybe it was because narratively, she was presented as a villain, but we're supposed... to sympathize with her? I'm not sure what it is, exactly, but I'm no Francine fan. She's certainly not my least favorite character ever in the history of ever, and I did warm up to her in Journey's End, but she popped into my mind when I though of Doctor Who characters I don't like so she gets the unfortunate spotlight.
