Oh, internet. You know how much I love pirates. Why must you combine something I love so much with something I'm trying very hard to avoid? The next six months will be even more difficult now, knowing of the piratey goodness that I'm probably missing ;___;

Here's Day 3:

V. Favorite Villain/Monster || Dalek Caan
I saw the truth of us, Creator, and I decreed NO MORE!

What can I say, I like my villains crazy. The crazier the better. And nobody's more bonkers than good old Dalek Caan. Plus he secretly engineers the destruction of his own race behind everybody's backs like a boss, while giggling like he's sucking on nitrous oxide the whole time. I know, he's a strange choice :c Cassandra is my second favorite.

VI. Favorite Guest Star || Bill Nighy as Doctor Black
Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world--
No one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence
was not only the world's greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.

Special mention also goes to Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow, Jessica Hynes as Joan Redfern, Tony Curran as Vincent van Gogh, Anthony Stewart Head as Mr. Finch, Fenella Woolgar as Agatha Christie, and Georgia Moffet as Jenny. This was not an easy choice, but in the end, Bill Nighy is Bill Nighy. And he's wearing a bow tie the size of his head. For the record, I don't consider Elisabeth Sladen or Bernard Cribbins guest stars, as they technically appear in the opening credits at some point, or this would have been an even harder decision.

ETA: My computer crashed yesterday, so I spent the afternoon and evening watching DW with my dad, and one of the episodes we watched was Blink, and man, I'd forgotten just how awesome Carey Mulligan was in that ep. Given that the entire episode rests on her, and it manages to be one of the best-loved and best-reviewed episodes of the revival, in no small part because of her performance... she deserves a whole lot of credit.
